Indian Premier League teams prefer to change colours of their uniform. Deccan Chargers has done away with its beige and black uniform from last year to unveil dark blue jersey for its team that will play the DLF-Indian Premier League this year in the hope that . Not to be left behind, Delhi Daredevils eliminated black from its colour scheme and will sport navy blue and red uniforms. And, Shah Rukh Khan’s team has preferred to drop the word Kolkata from its official name and prefers to be simply called Knight Riders. So why would teams make these changes in the second edition of the DLF-IPL event?
“The dark blue in Deccan Chargers’ jerseys represents immense cosmic energy, concentration level and creativity,” says International Institute of Alternate Sciences founder Jagmohan Sachdeva. “It will work to the benefit of the team richly supported by air element. When seen individually beige defines stability but when combined with black it symbolises immature spontaneous decision-making.”
Alternate Therapy Association member Jayshree Verma echoes that. “The basic energy factor for uplifting performance and passion among the Deccan Chargers players was missing in the combination of beige and black as both are very mildly-related to the earth element,” she says, explaining the string of poor results the team managed last season.
The Delhi Daredevils combo of navy blue and red might work in the teams favour, agree the experts. “IPL is all about fast-paced aggression and red denotes the real passion and fire within and the Daredevils will get a edge over others,” says Dr. Jagmohan.
“Navy blue is an effective instrument in voicing one’s thoughts to others more profoundly,” says Dr. Verma. “Red mirrors the earth elements which support the physicality needed for any success. As for last year’s combination, red contains the physical forces element while black is a problematic colour in relation to brain involved decisive actions.”
